New Member Post And A Question! [Jan. 22nd, 2006|11:45 am]

Name: Christina
Age: 25
What kind of car do you own: 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier
What color is you car: Silver
What's your favorite car: Right now? My car!  I have a thing for cars and plan on owning a bunch of them some day.
What kind of engine is in it: I'm not good with all that stuff.  I'll read up K?
Why do you like Chevy's instead of Fords:  Ugh.  My family drives Fords.  I'm like the Odd One Out.  In my humble opinion, I've seen my family have more problems with their Fords than any other car!  The only thing I like about Ford is the fact that they put Toby Keith in their commercials.  DOH!

Now, I have a question.  My speedometer just went out yesterday.  I'm afraid to drive it because I can't afford to get it fixed right now.  Is there any other way I can tell how fast I'm going?  I really suck at guessing and I can't afford tickets or an insurance spike.  I tried looking online for instructions on fixing it myself, but my dad basically told me I couldn't and that I had to take it in.  I have my warranty and all that stuff, but I'm not exactly sure if it's covered or not.  No other warning lights have popped up at all, so I'm really curious as to why my speedometer just gave out.  I was shocked when I was traveling at what I thought was 45, then I looked at my meter and it said 30, so I started yelling for people to hurry (cuz the speed limit is 45.) Then it said 20, then 10.  I was afraid my car was actually just going to stop!  But when it hit 0 and I was still flying down the road...I was scared.  I don't like not knowing how fast I'm going.  I HAVE to drive my car to work and stuff and that scares me more.  I could really use some insight here, even just a temporary inexpensive way to gauge my speed until I can fix it.  Thanks!

go with traffic, but i'd take it in as soon i could cause you never know. Just stay in line with another car and that should help from not speeding.
